Food insecurity affects too many families in our district, our city, and our state. Hunger is devastating to children seeking education, employed individuals, and the stability of families.

 

The following resources can assist you or people you may know dealing with food insecurity.

SNAP Benefits

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program provides funds that can be used to purchase food at participating retailers. Eligibility is determined by income and number of family members. To apply, click here.

 

Care For Real Food Pantry

Edgewater Location

Rogers Park Location

WIC Program

The Women, Infants and Children program assists pregnant women, new mothers and their children get proper nutrition. You can determine your eligibility and visit a local office to fill out an application.

 

Top Box Foods

Top Box Foods provides low cost food boxes delivered once a month. Delivery is free and contactless, they accept all forms of payments including SNAP.

 

The Greater Chicago Food Depository

The Greater Chicago Food Depository is available to anyone in Chicago or surrounding areas who may be experiencing food insecurity.

 

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels Chicago provides homebound seniors and disabled persons with weekly food deliveries. Seniors must sign up to participate. Seniors Citizens who’d like to sign up call 312-744-4016 and person with disabilities call 312-746-5773.
