Graffiti not only defaces property in our community, but is used by gang members to communicate, claim turf and insult opposing groups.

Reporting instances to the police allows for quick cleanup and provides important information about gang activities in the neighborhood.

If you see graffiti, you should take the following two steps:

1) Report it to the city for cleanup. Call 3-1-1 or report it online. Provide the most accurate description and location possible, and record the service request number.

2) Report it to the local CAPS office by emailing the location, type of surface and pictures to graffiti@caps24.org for the 24th District or 20thdistgraffiti@gmail.com for the 20th District.
